NMF Training Academy

Miami, Florida, September 14th, 2018 – International reseller Nacho Mazzini Family (NMF) (www.nachomf.com) has launched the NMF Training Academy in Miami, Florida, USA. The brand new facility is designed as a center of training excellence and know-how for professionals, industry newcomers and students worldwide involved in high-end digital cinematography as well as UHD HDR workflows – from the set into post production through to content delivery – of motion pictures, TV and OTT entertainment.

Located in 1,600sq/ft premises, at Accord Studios, 2140 South Dixie Highway, in the Coconut Grove district of Miami, the NMF Training Academy has assimilated the Miami operations of RED’s Digital Cinema Store into its new facility, and has also created additional training, demonstration and test showrooms, powered by state-of-the-art UHD HDR processing and display technology from leading brands including Colorfront, Sony, Flanders Scientific, AJA Video Systems and Dolby Vision.
Utilizing these cutting-edge production and post production tools, NMF Training Academy will provide a range of structured, hands-on, practical, in-depth learning and training programs, and participants will be awarded NMF Training Academy certificates on completion of their courses.
Training programs at NMF Training Academy will be hosted by a variety of experienced tutors and industry professionals – these include official REDucation events, and color science classes from luminaries such as Bill Feightner, the Academy Award-winning CTO of Colorfront.
The initial set of courses will cover: REDucation training; best practices for on-set workflow, using Colorfront’s dailies systems; basic and advanced file-conversion and HDR tuition using Colorfront Transkoder; HDR QC and analysis, using AJA’s HDR Image Analyzer in combination with Sony and Flanders Scientific displays; and IMF deliverables for Netflix, Dolby Vision and Amazon.
“There is a continual need for learning, knowledge and experience in today’s ever-evolving production, post-production and distribution industries,” said Nacho Mazzini, CEO of NMF. “As Miami is an international hub, the NMF Training Academy is within easy reach from the US, Canada, Latin America and Europe. Harnessing partnerships with some of the world’s leading technology innovators means our guests will have access to the very latest, most advanced technology and know-how in digital cinematography, color-science, IMF and HDR workflows and mastering.”
Aron Jaszberenyi, managing director of Colorfront, commented, “As a developer of dailies, file-conversion and mastering solutions, we are highly-aware of, and in-tune with, of the continual progression of the digital production and post production landscape. The NMF Training Academy is a most welcome initiative – it represents a golden opportunity for professionals to sharpen their skills, and for newcomers to equip themselves with in-depth knowledge to further their careers.”
“We have had a great relationship with Nacho since the very early days of RED. So, the Nacho Mazzini Family being further integrated into the RED family, by taking over our Miami operations, has been a natural extension of the relationship,” said Jarred Land, president of RED Digital Cinema. “When you layer on the NMF Training Academy, you see what a wide range of services NMF is offering to RED customers. We simply could not be more excited.”
Nick Rashby, president of AJA Video Systems added, “The ways that we deliver and consume entertainment content is advancing faster than ever. Broadcasters are starting to demand 4K HDR delivery of live streams and produced programming, and the infrastructure and knowledge required to build out these workflows can get complex. With a focus on education for professionals by professionals in post, production and delivery, NMF Training Academy is delivering a valuable service.”
