Laowa Lenses (Venus Optics) was established in 2013. With headquarters in China, they’re a leading manufacturer of premium lenses, formed by a group of photography enthusiasts and industry experts.
The team of optical designers has more than 20 years of experience and previously designed lenses for Japanese and German manufacturers.
The headquarters and manufacturing facility are in Hefei, located in the eastern part of China and a 5-hour drive from Shanghai. Our sales and marketing head office is located in Hong Kong and we also have a distribution office in the United States. We now have 131 employees and the number is growing.

Laowa Ranger Compact Cine Zoom Series
The Ranger Cine Compact Zoom Series comes in FF Ranger 28-75mm T2.9 and FF Ranger 75-180mm T2.9 lenses, designed to meet the demands of both one-man-band filmmakers and production houses, offering exceptional features and unrivaled performances to create a cinematic story. The standard version weighted around 1.4kg／3.08lbs light, while the Lite Version is even 10% lighter, one could enjoy quality results with effortless setups.
Laowa Proteus 2X Anamorphic Lens Series
Proteus is the latest and the most accessible professional anamorphic series for Super 35 sensors with a 2X constant squeeze ratio. This series comes in 8 focal lengths (35/45/60/85 ready to order, 20/28/100/135 due late 2023) and features a universal T2 aperture, delivering excellent image quality and consistent classic anamorphic characteristics including elliptical bokeh and signature flares with blue, amber and silver options.
It supports close-up shots with a 55cm minimum focusing distance and offers modern conveniences to meet dynamic on-set needs.
PL mount in default, an interchangeable EF bayonet is included in the package. A hard case is included. Imperial / Metric versions are available. 4-lens set will be delivered in 2 hard cases.
Laowa (PL/EF) Nanomorph 1.5X Anamorphic
Welcome to the Nanomorph, the world’s smallest anamorphic lens covering Super35 sensors, weighing only <14 oz each. It opens up more possibilities in setups that cannot be done before, like on gimbals, helmets, drones, etc. The constant 1.5x squeeze ratio makes it a mumps-free lens while retaining anamorphic characteristics. Three flare options are provided: Amber/ Blue / Silver. The relatively close focusing distance also offers more room for creators in composition and creates more depth of field.
A hard case is included for the 3-lens/5-lens Bundle.

The PL mount Laowa 12mm T2.9 Zero-D Cine Lens from Venus Optics is currently the widest t/2.9 lens that can cover sensors up to both full-frame & vista vision size, making it one of the ideal lightweight, compact, and wide-angle options for both professional cinema cameras and mirrorless cameras.
LAOWA 24mm T14 2X PeriProbe
The 24mm T14 2x PeriProbe not only inherits all the great features from the 24mm T14 2x Probe lens, a new tube with periscope is now also included. The new 90° Periscope tip unlocks countless new exciting movement. The 85° AoV and a very close 2cm working distance help created the bug-eye perspective. The 2x magnification allows for capturing subjects of different sizes with details. Users could poke the long and waterproof barrel into a tight space and underwater to obtain a unique perspective. The LED Ring Lite provides an extra light source. Users could also switch the 90° periscope back to the 0° straight scope. The lens could rotate 360° along the axis by unlocking the orientation ring. Additional accessories can also be mounted at the tip of the lens through the 1/4 screw hole.
The 24mm T14 2x Periprobe includes (1) Main Unit, (1) 90° Module and (1) Direct View Module. The lens also includes: (1) white USB cable dimmer (with power adjustment), (1) black USB cable (without power adjustment), (1) protective case, (5) front and rear caps for all modules and the main unit.
LAOWA 7.5mm T2.9 Zero-D S35 Cine
If you’re looking for the widest rectilinear prime lens you can find in the Super35 market, covering a 123° angle of view, then you need a Laowa 7.5mm T2.9 Zero-D S35 Cine.
It produces high-quality images with “Zero-Distortion” and minimal chromatic aberration which filmmakers save a lot of effort on post production.
LAOWA 100mm T2.9 2X APO Cine
Laowa 100mm T2.9 2x Macro APO Cine is the world’s first 2X maginifcation macro cinema lens on Full Frame camera with 8cm minimum focusing distance. It has 24.4° angle of view and can create a shallower depth of field. A unqiue lens to shoot jaw dropping footage with incredible details of the object.
Industrial standard of 0.8 mod gears are applied on both aperture and focus rings alongside with the stepless aperture ring to offer smooth iris control. A standard 77mm filter thread is designed to mount screw-in filters easily.
Argus T1 Cine Series (Full Frame)
